Unable to do more than one sorting in pivot

Hi All,

I'm using Pivot chart option in Thoughtspot where i'm specifying my measure value in rows and Time ID in column . If i try doing sort on my measure value in descending , it affects my Time ID as well. I want my measure value to be sorted in descending and my time id in ascending.

Why Thoughtspot not letting me to do two different sorting in Pivot. Could someone please help me on this

  • with just the time ID and measure this wont work.

you will need to add another dimension for the sort on the measure to work for each time ID value

    for example type:

"count number"  "time ID daily" "Dimension" "sort by time ID daily" "sort by count number descending"

    and you will get a result like;

    05/03/2020     fish    20

    05/03/2020     meat  10

    06/03/2020    meat   33

    06/03/2020    fish    11

the time ID column will have ascending sort and  the measure will have descending sort...

  • I'm using a dimension called customer along with measure value ( lets keep it as sales) and i'm trying to sort it in descending to show customer performance from top to bottom .

i'm having time in column to show trend for a year(which i sorted it in ascending).

    Cust TimeID in Year
      2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 Total
    A 20M 20M 5M 1M 6M 52M
    B 40M 0 0 0 1k 41M
    c 7M 0 1M - - 8M
    D 0.0 0.0 0.0 0.1M - 0.1M
    E - - - - 0.02M 0.02M

But it is not working :(
