Best Practices for Embrace( Data Connections)

Can I get the best practices for Snowflake Data connection?

Currently, any user who have manage data access, can see all other data connections and can use it to fetch a snowflake table in TS.

Overall the security is compromised.

  • What do you want to happen?

People with manage data should be able to manage data

  • Marc Price - The requirement is -

I have 2 admin users (different tenants/domain), who has to privileges to manage data.

However, when I log in with user1, I am able to see and leverage the data connection made by user 2 even though they don't belong to the same group.

Kindly guide on best practises for data connections in Thoughspot

  • Siddhi Doshi Admin users bypass any security groups you setup in ThoughtSpot

personally I would only give admin access  to those who you want to manage the whole application.

  • Does that mean 'manage data access' should be only with Admin?

How will this be handled, if there are 2 admins across vertical (Eg- Marketing and IT group in an organisation)

  • I think this would be a good feature request. We will have a similar use case where we want different groups to be the ones managing separate sets of data without being able to see everyone else's data.
